Canon never specifies. If a specific age is needed, though, I headcanon him around 45.
BACKGROUND: Link #1 (general storyline), Link #2 (Engineer’s background)
Please let me know if a youtube link isn’t okay! I can write it out if needed. There’s not a lot of wiki info on his background specifically, and this is the most condensed version I could find.

PERSONALITY:
- Engineer, or Dell Conagher, is a mechanical engineer from Bee Cave, Texas with a love of all things mechanical. He’s also a mercenary for a private land war in the middle of New Mexico between two warring, nearly immortal brothers. Team Fortress 2 is a goofy, over-the-top series with ridiculous violence and storylines and characters, and Engineer is no exception.
- A canon blurb describes him as a mix of mad scientist and Texan good 'ol boy: "This amiable, soft-spoken good ol' boy from tiny Bee Cave, Texas loves barbecues, guns, and higher education. Natural curiosity, ten years as a roughneck in the west Texas oilfields, and eleven hard science PhDs have trained him to design, build and repair a variety of deadly contraptions."
- Generally, a well-spoken, friendly, and easygoing person. Gets along with most people. This includes a pyromaniac on his team, who he reads stories to. Also has a lot of nerdy dad jokes and southernisms (yeehaw) under his belt.
- Ridiculously smart. Like, cartoon-levels of genius. In canon, he has 11 PhDs. He’s also learns time-travel in a gag side-comic. Alongside this, he’s pragmatic, realistic, and meticulous. He's also unafraid of his own limitations, even cutting off his own hand to give himself a prosthetic robot arm called the Gunslinger, originally designed by his grandfather.
- Beyond his love of inventions and engineering, has fairly simple hobbies and pleasures. When he’s not working, building, or inventing, he likes to relax by playing guitar and/or camping with a beer.
- Morally gray. He seems to enjoy his mercenary work, which is often bloody. He’s typically casual in a firefight, exemplified in his introductory short where he casually plays a guitar over a fire as his sentries destroy enemies trying to close in on him.
- Despite his friendliness, Engineer has a sadistic mean streak. He taunts and insults enemies, often with a quietly threatening and laid-back attitude. When pushed, he doesn’t take crap either. Once, when grabbed by his employer, he responds threateningly: "I appreciate that you're my employer, and an old man besides... but if you don't take your goddamn hands off me I will break you in half."
- Like most TF2 characters, Engineer is fairly nonchalant towards weird stuff. This includes a time when a spaceship crashes through his house and responds with a “huh.”

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Besides being a cartoon-level genius, he’s also the engineer for his mercenary team. He specializes in “area denial” with machines he designed and built himself. He's designed and built sentry guns, a healing and ammo-dispensing Dispenser, and a Teleporter. He’s also made a variety of creative weapons and tools for his work. One example is the Wrangler, a remote control designed by his grandfather for manually aiming sentry guns.

INVENTORY:
- His Gunslinger hand (if prosthetics count?)
- Pistol
- Dispenser (folds Transformers-style into portable toolbox)
- His pipe wrench
- His PDA

MOONBLESSING: Sanguis.

▶ SAMPLES

link #1 (or this if this sample is too old)
link #2 (and this for same reason)

comments

A creepy ambience gets louder and louder until he finally reveals himself. Still in shadows, he holds his hand out. When “Don’t you know how to greet a new pal?” he asks you. The player takes his hand.

Cue a long, loud fart.

Goofy, shenanigans-style music fades in after a brief silence and the reveal: a short, stocky skeleton with a whoopee cushion in his bony hand, speaking in literal comic sans font and a “huhuhuh” sound bit.

From that moment on, Sans never stops being anything but a comedian. Sans is ridiculous, more than a gross, and infamously lazy. He drops frequent jokes and puns (especially about skeletons), drinks condiments straight from the bottle (as a joke probably, but?????), and barely puts efforts into most things. For example, Sans is a sentry, but according to monsters at a bar & grill he frequents, he doesn’t do anything but sit in his station and read magazines. If you talk to Undyne (his boss and head of the Royal Guard) at a particular point in the game, she mentions always catching him slacking off and sleeping… yet his results are just barely good enough not to fire him.
Sans’ casual attitude also makes him popular with others. He’s described by other monsters as fun to be around. He’s also something of a weird uncle depending on your actions. He often plays good-natured pranks on the player and others. At one point, he uses his vaguely-described teleportation powers to jump back and forth from one end of a room to another when the player isn’t looking. If talked to, he’ll ask if you’re following him.

Despite his slacker status, however, Sans is always interested in cheap and easy ways to make a buck. He has at least four jobs. He’s a sentry for multiple areas of the game despite putting the bare minimum of effort into them, and even runs an “illegal” hot dog stand. Somehow, the hot dogs are made of cattail plants plucked and put on a bun.

Beyond the surface, Sans is a lot more than a slacker. However, it defines his personality in more ways than one. It is inferred from multiple runs and moments in the game that Flowey, one of the main antagonists, used a special “reset” power to go back in time over and over. Flowey would then “play” with time. Similar to how video games will show you different endings depending on your actions, Flowey played with different outcomes in time – then reset so he could do it all over again. Eventually, Flowey started killing people. Sans became aware of these resets, and at one point was implied to have tried to stop them.

Unfortunately, the resets kept happening. No matter what Sans did, Flowey would continue to reset the timeline. Even the player, who has the power to reset, has the option of doing the same. So Sans gave up. What was the point of trying if everything would just reset? His apathetic perspective reflects as much. During the final boss of the pacifist run/ending, the player can find his lost soul (stolen from the boss), which asks them: “Just give up. I did. Why even try?”

Because of these resets, he has also become incredibly perceptive. He can pick up easily on expression and body language. This is also how he’s able to tell if a reset has happened before. To him, a player who has reset looks like they know what’s going to happen, like they’ve seen it all before.

San’s apathy is further shown in his “judgements”. At the climax of the game, Sans will appear before you meet the king of monsters and judge you for your actions. His responses depend on whether you’ve killed or spared enemies and bosses – a mechanic that affects most of the game’s story. In judgements where you’ve killed monsters, he keeps his casual, joking attitude. For the most part, he doesn’t think that anything he can do or say will change their mind or stop them from resetting. There are hints of seriousness to what he tries to tell the player, though, even asking them what he can do to change the mind “of a being like you”.

But not every part of this attitude is hopeless or nihilistic. Despite how beat-down how he’s become, Sans has enough hope to try and guide the player in the right direction, even when they’ve killed people. He’s the type to wait and see before he judges someone, and tries to give people a chance or at least consider their side of things. He explains in the darkest ending that he thought “the anomaly” (the one resetting the timeline) did what they did because they were unhappy, and that all they needed was “good food, bad laughs, and friends”. He knows people can change, but he also knows that not everyone is “good”. People are complex, and he knows that. Though it’s harder for him to believe that anyone can change (like his brother does), he still tries to weakly suggest they try not to hurt anyone, even if he isn’t sure if they’ll learn their lesson. Maybe there’s a chance they’ll change, but his kindness and patience isn’t unconditional.

Sans isn’t violent on his own. He admonishes the player for killing people, though it still comes across casual and/or sarcastic. He only fights you when your actions threaten the entire world, when he “can’t afford not to care anymore”. Then, he is ruthless and dangerous, becoming the hardest boss in the game. And even THEN, he still makes jokes.

If you refuse to kill anyone, however, Sans is a lot more hopeful. A lot of the fate and attitudes of Undertale depends on the players actions, and I play from a best ending. When the player is judged in the pacifist run, Sans encourages you. “You gained love. Does that make sense? Maybe not,” he says. In the best “neutral” ending (a requirement for getting the pacifist ending), he tells you that they WILL get out of the Underground. They WILL be free. After the player defeats the final boss of the pacifist run and helps him realize what he’s done, the boss releases the souls he stole, but not before telling you how he can feel how much those souls love you – Sans’ soul included. Despite popular opinion within the fandom, Sans cares. Despite its potentially dark endings, Undertale overall is a message of hope, love, and changing for the better. He’s a complex character worn down by his past, but monster souls are explained to be made of love, hope, and compassion – and Sans is no different.

Skills/Abilities: Sans is a monster, a race of beings made of magic instead of physical matter. This gives each monster unique abilities and powers. Most monsters use their magic to express themselves, for mundane purposes, etc., but can also be used to fight. Monster bodies are also closely linked to their souls, described in-game as being made of love, hope, and compassion. Feelings and emotions affect their body. For example, their will to fight will affect their defenses (in meta, their in-game character stats). Unfortunately, due to of their lack of physical matter, monsters are much weaker than humans – especially humans with killing intent.

Despite weak character stats (literally, his in-game character description is “the easiest enemy”), Sans is considered one of the hardest potential bosses in Undertale. One hit will kill him, but you have to catch him first. He can only deal one damage at a time, but his complicated attack set-ups accumulate fast.

Sans magic abilities include:
- Summoning bones
- Blue magic (in the form of his bones): An attack type in Undertale that only deals damage if the target moves. If the target stays still, the attack passes them harmlessly.
- Blue mode: An ability that can grab onto another person’s soul and turn it blue, increasing their gravity and making movement difficult. Sans can control the target’s gravity in blue mode, letting him throw them.
- Gaster Blaster: A summonable animal skull-shaped weapon that can blast a powerful beam attack.
- Teleporting: This ability is left ambiguous with no real explanation other than “it just happens”. Sans sometimes uses this ability as a shortcut. He can also teleport other people. In-battle, he uses it to force the human in particular places, and at one point uses it to keep them from moving. If they moved, he would teleport them back to their original point.

Network Sample: I hope this is okay as a sample!

Third Person Sample: The last thing he remembered was a highway. He remembered the sun on his face, wind rushing through his skull, the whirring of that cheap moped he bought, Papyrus threatening road rage…

Then here happened.

Sans opened his sockets.

It had been a while since he got here – yet his last memory of home still rang so clear in his head. The skeleton couldn’t decide if it was a good or bad thing.

On one side, it just reminded him he was stuck here. This was different from resets, multiple timelines, whatever. He was in the a completely different world now, and he had a feeling Frisk and that flower had nothing to do with it. There was no guarantee he was ever going home.

On the other hand… it was nice. Back before the kid, being constantly ripped in and out of timelines by a flower he could barely remember, he wasn’t even allowed the luxury of memories. Being able to remember all that stuff for once in his life felt good.
So maybe it wasn’t so bad.

The monster pulls himself off the bench. His bony knees knocked against the cardboard box he had set up in front of him. On top were rocks of different sizes, colors, and crudely-written names. Each five cents. Nobody had taken him up on his new pet store yet.

Welp. Sans shoved his hand in his pockets. Might as well check on everybody else. Wallowing around here reminded him – he wasn’t the only one quietly missing home. They were all in the same basket.

At the same time... even if there was no guarantee, at least there was SOME kind of chance. Right?

Besides. Frisk gave him a home to go back to. He might as well hang onto the chance himself.

comments

Items on your character at canon point:
- A whoopee cushion
- A bottle of ketchup

Abilities: Sans is a monster, a race of beings made of magic instead of physical matter.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Despite appearances, Sans is incredibly fast when he wants to be.
- Can set up complicated, hard-to-dodge attacks with his magic.
- Intelligent, clever.
- Perceptive; can easily pick up on a person or situation through subtle cues.
- Pretty stealthy (again, when he wants to be) thanks to his magic.

- More or less keeps his cool in most situations.
Weaknesses:
- Has only 1 HP (AKA a weak vitality) and can only deal 1 damage (AKA weak power). Undertale’s fighting mechanics run on RPG stats, and those stats are given a meta in-story explanation.
- Physically weaker against humans.
- Weak to killing intent.
- Tires easily.
- Incredibly lazy. Apathetic and often unmotivated, you need to give him a pretty strong reason to do something.

Sample
Prose/Action Sample: The last thing he remembered was a highway.

He might as well hang onto the chance himself.

comments

One of the most notable things about Joseph when he was a young man was his hot-temperedness and impetuousness. He was almost as equally stubborn, as well as a prankster. But despite this, Joseph was (and still is) extremely savvy. He tricks his opponents through bluffs and uses information against people, all with an almost magician-like showmanship. For example, when fighting Cars (one of main antagonists) Joseph decided to destroy his only weapon. He then gave Cars a speech about how it would force him to come up with a new way to defeat him. In reality, Joseph’s bravado was actually a distraction so he could save his Hamon master while Cars wasn't looking. He also relies heavily on bluffing, regardless of whether he is talking his way out of a bad situation or creating a distraction.

Joseph also cares deeply for family and friends and, though he doesn't always show it because of his attitude,, he will go out of his way to protect them. Though he has casually picked fights with policeman and the mafia, for example, Joseph dotes on his grandmother and is more than a little afraid of her wrath. Though he was unfocused and frequently fooled around, Joseph eventually matured into a competent hero. But he will fight for what he believes is right. After being given Hamon (a fighting style that channels the energy of the sun) training, he also grows to respect enemies who show honor in battle. This is especially shown by how Joseph treats another one of the main antagonists, Wham, after defeating him. Though Wham killed his friend Caesar, Joseph attempts to give him a painless death - knowing that Wham honored Caesar in another way after their fight. Respectively, Joseph detests anyone who fights treacherously and breaks their word.

50 years later into the Stardust Crusaders arc, Joseph hasn’t changed much. Now a father and grandfather, he is an energetic (and ornery) old man. Though not without the same temper and mischievousness, Joseph has significantly matured. As the pseudo-leader of the main group of characters, he often gives orders and advice. At the same time he's also known to completely BS his own knowledge of things. Such as declaring that he knows how to ride camels because he saw Lawrence of Arabia (and slept through half of it). He still cares about his family, and can be very protective as well as affectionate, especially toward his only daughter, Holly. He is also fatherly and gentle when it comes to children in general.

His tendency to complain is even more apparent in his older years. For example, after his daughter married a Japanese man (leading to Joseph declaring that he would "never forgive the Japanese") he frequently complains about Japanese traditions. The few times he gets emotional, though, Joseph lashes out. Upon discovering that Holly was dying, he slammed his teenage grandson Jotaro against the wall and screamed. It's shown that he does this out of shock and distress, as his voice cracks when he explains to Jotaro what happened.

Another notable thing about Joseph's personality is his impulsiveness. It's unapologetic and tends to go hand in hand with his temper. The few times he does regret what he's done, though, he tries to make up for it in his own way. A few years before Stardust Crusaders begins he had an affair with a Japanese woman, resulting in a son that he wouldn't know about until much later. The reason why he did this is never explained, much less what happens between him in his wife. But after discovering that he had a son named Josuke, he puts him in his will. Later, he comes to Josuke's hometown both to help solve a situation happening in his town and try to form a relationship with his son.

Overall, Joseph is a hotheaded old man but a good person. As the "dad" of the group he leads, he's willing to stand up for and take care of people.

Abilities: SinceJoseph is the only character who has Hamon and a Stand, I’m going to talk about Hamon here just in case!

Hamon is type of martial arts based on drawing energy from the sun through a controlled breathing method. This is one of the few (if only) techniques that can defeat JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's version of vampires. Joseph inherited his own Hamon through his mother and grandfather. He wasn't properly trained in its use until he was 18, but it made him a proficient fighter.

Hamon is an incredibly flexible fighting style. Users can charge Hamon through their fists or objects to send powerful solar energy into their opponent, which is why many use weapons based on their preferred style. Hamon charged through inanimate objects on their own can also be dangerous. For example, Joseph used it to pop the cap of a cola bottle to turn it into a high speed projectile.

Hamon can also give other benefits. Users can reject poison and other harmful substances by literally ejecting it out of their bloodstream through energy. It can also slow the aging process. Joseph, for example, is 67 years old but appears to be more in his mid-fifties.

Though it is powerful and versatile in nature, however, Hamon has its weaknesses. Hamon users are required to constantly breathe. If breathing is stopped, slowed, or uncontrolled, their ability to channel their power is greatly diminished. Vampires can exploit this weakness.

Arrival: If JJBA characters won’t be arriving in a different way and the way I discussed with mods doesn’t work, Option 2 is fine with me!

STAND INFO

Stand name: Hermit Purple (canon Stand)

Stand power: Hermit Purple doubles as a weapon and a psychic power for Joseph. It can be used as whip or a grappling hook, which works as a weapon, a means of escape, or a way of grabbing someone. It’s psychic abilities are also unique. For instance, it can produce a psychic photograph when Joseph destroys a camera. The photograph itself can be of anyone Joseph wants to see, and takes a picture of said person in that same exact moment of time. People that Joseph takes psychic photos of may feel a sense of being watched.

It's also capable of slight technopathy. Through psychic manipulation, it can create live video when Joseph "hooks" himself up to a television. As long as it's a working TV set, Hermit Purple can generate audible messages of what he wants to know and even read minds. Joseph also used it to right an out-of-control plane, and once "checked" a video game system to make sure it wasn't rigged (don't ask). Additionally, it can create maps out of variation materials - such as sand - and can track people in real time.

The length of the vines can be controlled. It could be considered a long-range Stand, given that he used it to swing from far-away buildings and grab people from a decent distance. It’s stated range is inconsistent and confusing sometimes (as per usual for Araki anyway), but for the most part it seems to be built for distance.

Joseph often combines Hermit Purple with Hamon by charging the vines. He used this to keep Dio (a vampire and main antagonist) from touching him by "hiding" Hamon-charged vines under his shirt.

Unfortunately, despite its psychic prowess, Hermit Purple is physically inadequate and is considered one of the weakest stands between the Stardust Crusaders protagonists.

Hermit Purple can be used in several creative ways, which might be a reflection of Joseph’s prowess for trickery and MacGyver-ing under pressure. For example, the vines can bundle together to be used as a temporary (though not impenetrable) shield, as shown in the Capcom fighting game.

Stand appearance: Though most Stands take on a humanoid appearance, Hermit Purple manifests as thorny purple vines from Joseph’s hands and arms. Multiple vines can come out if Joseph wishes, and the length can be controlled.

IC SAMPLE

OPTION A:

- thread one

- thread two

- thread three

SPECIAL REQUESTS
Dorm: If any of Joseph’s family comes into the game, he’d like to stay near them!

He might prank you just as well. But he's someone you want on your team regardless.

ABILITIES:
Joseph is a adept fighter that combines a variety of techniques for his own personal style. He often combines his abilities to attack in complex and creative ways. He also uses stage magic-like techniques to confuse enemies and create distractions. His main powers, however, are his Hamon and his Stand.

Hamon
Also known as the Ripple. A type of martial arts based on drawing energy from the sun through a controlled breathing method. This is one of the few (if only) techniques that can defeat JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's version of vampires. Joseph inherited his own Hamon through his mother and grandfather. He wasn't properly trained in its use until he was 18, but it made him a proficient and dangerous fighter. Hamon is an incredibly flexible fighting style. Users can charge Hamon through their fists or objects to send powerful solar energy in their opponent, which is why many use weapons based on their preferred style. Hamon charged through inanimate objects on their own can also be dangerous. For example, Joseph once used it to pop the cap of a cola bottle to turn it into a high speed projectile. In addition to being a weapon Hamon can also give other benefits. Users can reject poison and other harmful substances by literally ejecting it out of their bloodstream through energy. It can also slow the aging process. Joseph, for example, is 67 years old but appears to be more in his mid-fifties.

Though it is powerful and versatile nature, however, Hamon has its weaknesses. Hamon users are required to constantly breathe. If breathing is stopped, slowed, or uncontrolled, their ability to channel their power is greatly diminished. Vampires typically exploit this weakness. This is why users must carefully guard themselves.

Stand: Hermit Purple
Stands are a supernatural ability that allows a person to summon a ghostly presence that stands (hence the name) beside them, giving them special powers. The ability and form of the Stand varies depending on the person that it is bound to. The physical appearance of the Stand itself is manifested by energy. It can only be seen by other Stand users and is a part of the user itself. If the Stand is injured, the damage is also reflected on its user. If the Stand receives a cut on its arm, for example, the user will also be cut.

Most Stands take on a humanoid appearance. However, Joseph's Stand "Hermit Purple" manifests as thorny purple vines from his hands. Hermit Purple can be used as whip or a grappling hook, which works doubly as a weapon, a means of escape, or a way of grabbing/carrying someone else. It also has several psychic abilities. For instance, it can produce a psychic photograph when Joseph destroys a camera. The photograph itself can be of anyone Joseph wants to see, and takes a picture of them in that same exact moment of time. It can also create live psychic videos if Joseph "hooks" himself up to any television. The television can show anyone Joseph wants to see as well, but Hermit Purple can also change channels to create audible messages of what he wants to know. People that Joseph takes psychic pictures or videos of may feel a sense of being watched. Additionally, it can create maps out of variation materials - such as sand - and can track people in real time.

Joseph often combines Hermit Purple with Hamon by charging the vines. He used this to keep Dio (a vampire and main antagonist) from touching him by "hiding" Hamon-charged vines under his shirt. Unfortunately, Hermit Purple is physically weak, and could be considered one of the weakest stands between the Stardust Crusaders protagonists.

APPEARANCE: hot pix here
INVENTORY: Hat, wallet, prosthetic metal hand even though it's attached to him anyway

CONTRACT ARRANGEMENT: Joseph would sign the contract because he is approached by someone from the Speedwagon Foundation (an institution made by his family friend, which has a Supernatural Research Department), who tells him that suspiciously supernatural abilities in this city are causing trouble and that in might be a Stand. As part of SPW's Supernatural Research Department, it should be looked into. Joseph considers the presence of a contract strange and suspicious to begin with, but SPW explains to him that people can't get in without it. He'll need to adhere to the rules of the city in order to carry out a proper investigation. Joseph decides to sign the contract. Whatever it is they think is going on in the city, Joseph plans to learn about what's going on.

ALIGNMENT: Joseph would be best aligned with GPD because, though he's not a police officer by any means, he's a very justice-oriented character (being a former shonen hero protagonist with a shonen hero grandson and all) who wants to do the right thing and protect people. But, like his work with the Speedwagon Foundation, he also works best investigating problems outside formal law. He's between a vigilante and a cooperator, taking things into his own hands a lot but also communicating with the proper authorities if he thinks they should know. And in Ginosa especially, he would recognize how much more important communication would be. He'd also believe that he could investigate corruption within the police department better on the outside.

His powers and abilities also allow him to hone in on what's going on and either report it to the police or investigate it himself!

ROLE: Private investigator, enforcer, spy. I'd be uncomfortable with entertainment and I'm not personally into law or medical!

➦ SAMPLES
NETWORK: network post from my previous game
LOG: log threadstarter from previous game

comments

He might prank you just as well. But he's someone you want on your team regardless.

Items on your character at canon point: Hat, prosthetic hand.
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses: Joseph is a adept fighter that combines a variety of techniques for his own personal style. This makes him somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades, but master of some. He often combines his abilities to attack in complex and creative ways. He also uses stage magic-like techniques to confuse enemies and create distractions. His main abilities, however, are his Hamon and his Stand.

EDIT: Emotionally, Joseph's courage and will stands out as one of his greatest strengths. True to most anime protagonists (previously, in his case) he refuses to give up in any situation, especially if friends or family are involved in a problem. When he was younger he sometimes didn't like to give people the impression that he cared, again out of attitude, but with age he's (sort of) has mellowed out. Along with that, he's also clever and extraordinarily observational. He is also extremely tenacious. It might take a few stumbles for him to get out of a bad situation, but he almost always finds a way to pull out of it.

His weaknesses are, as always, his temper and his stubbornness. He's matured and mellowed out some with age, but that doesn't stop him from trying to start a shouting match sometimes. It's easy for his impulses and recklessness to get him into trouble. On top of that, it can also be difficult for him to take things seriously. The important things still matter, and this happened moreso in his younger days, but Joseph can often underestimate people. Also, don't believe everything he says. Sometimes he's just making it up.

Samples
Network/Action Spam Sample:
[An old man fidgets with the screen, not quite realizing he's live yet. It takes him good ten seconds until he notices.]

Does that mean it's on? OH MY GOD! How long have people been watching me?!

[Joseph scrambles to sit down and get himself properly in frame. He flashes a wide, slightly sheepish grin as he takes off a tan-crowned fedora - slightly Indiana Jones reminiscent. For anyone paying attention to the small details, you may notice a fresh scar poking out of Joseph's collared shirt, just below his neck.]

Joseph Joestar here! I suppose you could say I'm new. I'm not exactly sure how I'm taking this as well as I am, to be honest, but... well, I've seen a lot of strange things in my life, so. I guess this isn't much different. [For the record, Joseph already assumes this is some kind of afterlife. The scar is most of the reason for it.] But I had a question. I've heard how hard it is to come by supplies here, but... how difficult would it be to get some tools? The kind of things you usually find in a toolbox, you know... pliers, a screwdriver at least...

[To demonstrate, he lifts his gloved left hand to the screen. He then takes it off - revealing a prosthetic hand from the wrist up. He wiggles the metallic fingers.]

It'll be okay for a while, but I have to do some basic maintenance occasionally.

Prose Log Sample:
Jotaro. Run. Don't go near him. Keep your distance. Far away. Stay far away from him. Far away. Far away. Far away. Far ...

"AHHH!"

Joseph Joestar shot up stock straight from the floor out gasping for breath. Immediately he grabbed at his shirt collar, crushing fabric in a death-grip in his fist for a reason he couldn't remember yet.

"Jota -" Panicked, he fought for air in between the warning he was struggling to give no one. He could barely get the syllables out, much less a word. It was like coming out of a bad dream. But - no. This was worse. You don't struggle to breathe as hard as this even after a nightmare. "He's ... in -..."

It took the better part of two minutes before Joseph could force himself to calm down. Slow his breathing. Loosen vice grip he had on his shirt. Deep breaths. Calm down. Slower. Calmer. Slower. Calmer.

"... Invincible."

Slowly, Joseph's fingers smoothed against his skin until he felt a slight lump. He looked down. It was hard to see, given where it was, but he could feel a scar lined across the base of his throat. Joseph took another long, shaky breath. What the hell? When did he ... oh. Oh shit. Shit. He remembered now. And now he was starting to realize where he was. Or, to be more specific, where he wasn't. Joseph sprung off the floor.

"Jotaro!"

Obviously, no answer. At least, not from the person he wanted to hear. Not from the person he had been trying to save from the fate he realized he had just met. Joseph slowly looked around. Finally, he let go of his chest. He remembered now.

"Dio..."

Half defensively and half in a growing rage, Joeseph summoned Hermit Purple. For anyone attuned to spiritual energies or has a Stand themselves, they'll be able to see purple thorned vines literally ghosting out of Joseph's arms and onto the concrete floor. Anyone else, however, will only be able to tell that there's some kind of invisible force scraping at floor debris.

comments

Uses "Mr. Blonde" as an alias in his canon, may use it here.
Canon: Reservoir Dogs
OU or AU?: OU
Canon point: Taking him from the middle of him torturing a cop named Marvin Nash, after he cuts off Marvin Nash's ear and steps outside to get a can of gasoline out of his car.

Setting: Reservoir Dogs takes place in 1992 in real world Los Angeles. The overall setting of the movie is "normal" so there's not much to describe, but 90% of what happens is in an abandoned, empty warehouse that used to be a mortuary.

History: Link to the basic plot of Reservoir Dogs (which doesn't include the cutaway scenes that show characters before the main plot's events), link to a better detailed history on Vic

Personality: “Psychopath” is a common and actually pretty accurate description of Vic Vega. He’s cheerfully, casually homicidal and seems to kill without remorse. At one point in Reservoir Dogs, Vic tortures a police officer to Steeler's Wheel's "Stuck in the Middle With You" by slashing his face, cutting off his ear, and later attempting to burn him alive for fun, because "it's amusing to me to torture a cop". He's implied to be experienced in interrogating people, because before he tortures Marvin Nash (the police officer) he says "You can say whatever you want, because I've heard it all before". Vic’s a man who does whatever the hell he wants to without regret, and because of that he can often make a mess out of things. If he hadn’t been the cause of the bullet festival in the jewelry store during the robbery in the story, it’s likely that nearly all of the conflicts between the robbers (with the big exception that one of them was still an undercover cop) would not have happened. But with Vic’s unpredictable nature it’s hard to say.

Though sadistic, Vic is casual. He's downright friendly, and smooth too. He approaches most of life with a lax attitude. He’s not the type to worry much, and often smiles and laughs. 99% of the time he’s calm, never angry. He’ll get annoyed at times, sure, but in the movie he’s never outright mad. Arguably this makes him more dangerous, because he approaches crime with the same nonchalant demeanor. It often makes him hard to read, though he’s not afraid to speak his mind and is usually unapologetically honest. Blonde also prides himself on being his own boss. But he's not above asking for help.

Even though he’s usually called a psycho by his heist partners during the jewelry robbery, he never considers himself one. To Vic, everything he does is sound and logical in his realm of thinking. When one of his partners, Mr. White, calls him out on shooting up the store, he defends himself by saying “Fuck 'em. They set off the alarm, they deserve what they got” and “If they hadn’t of done what I told them not to do, they’d still be alive”.

One of Vic’s redeeming qualities if that he is fiercely loyal to the people he actually gives a shit about. Usually he doesn’t give a shit about anything, but when he does he’s a good friend. He cares a lot for Joe and Eddie Cabot, the two men that he works for. For example, four years before the movie’s robbery he was caught in a company warehouse with stolen items. If he had given Joe's name to the police he could have walked, but instead kept his mouth shut and didn't make a deal “no matter what they dangled in front of him". Because of that, he did four years in prison for Joe. Arguably prison changed Vic into a more violent man, his loyalty and honor towards the things he cares about is an important dynamic of his character.

Also tips his waitresses like a gentlemen. Even speaks up for waitresses when Mr. Pink explains why he doesn't tip. Not to the same extent that Mr. White does, but even Blonde looks suprised when Pink says "fuck all that" to their argument.

Abilities: N/A, Blonde is a regular human being, no special powers.

How did your character arrive in Rapture? Blonde would show up through the Teleportation plasmid and end up in Rapture's Welcome Center, if that's okay!

Network sample: [Vic had been privately taking in his situation for a couple of days already. The screen flickers to a tall man in a black suit, minus the jacket. He watches the screen for a moment, studying it, and scratches his cheek. If anyone pays attention to the second his hand is on screen, there’s a faded patch of dried blood-colored brown on his white cuff. ]

This thing working? [He stares at it a little longer, vague uncertainty crosses his face.] To be honest, I have no fuckin’ idea what I’m supposed to say here. But I figure I should get to know whoever else is stuck here too. So. Hey.

[Then he’s quiet again. He’s searching for something to say.]

So this is the fifties, huh? These guys are really missing out on the seventies and nineties. [He laughs lightly at that like it's an inside joke. But it’s off. His usual nonchalance is hard to muster at this situation.] So there’s really no getting out of here, is there? Did you guys time travel into an underwater magic city too, or am I going nuts?

Log sample: Vic Vega stood in the tunnels watching ocean life pass by. Only reinforced glass stood between him and the entire Atlantic Ocean. It was damn close to incomprehensible to think about. Vic thought a place like this would have sprung a leak and drowned everyone already. It probably leaked a few times already. He wasn’t that familiar with the place yet. But even when there wasn’t a window to look at, it was hard to forget you were miles underwater in a city stuck in the 50s.

To be fair to said underwater city, it WAS the 1950s. But it was 1992 for Vic, before he got zapped to Rapture. He practically felt like a space man out of a bad comic book. Maybe he was. He looked down at the zippo lighter he was flicking to give himself a smoke. Finally a flame leapt to life. Not long after, his cigarette was hanging from the corner of his mouth. It didn’t feel like the best idea down here, but what the fuck.

Vic was normally a calm man, not intimidated by anything. Even a gun to his face. He was adaptable, welcome to sudden changes. But this entire situation would make anyone freak. He’d still be unusually composed to anyone who didn’t know him well enough—he was far from outright panic. But trying to wrap his mind around this was goddamn hard. This was the stuff of movies.

But on the other hand, it was the stuff of his favorite movies. He was living this shit now. He thought about Joe, Eddie, and his brother Vincent. They’d love the hell out of this place. And to be honest, once Vic could wrap his head around it? He probably would too.

A slow smirk spread to his lips at the realization.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep calling himself “Mr. Blonde” for a little while longer.

comments
